Mekimeki vs Setgraph

Setgraph is a graph-first tracker: log a set in seconds and watch the charts move. It is unusually flexible about grouping exercises by workout, muscle group, program, or day of week, and it is one of the few apps in this comparison that offers a lifetime purchase instead of a subscription.

What Setgraph says about its own free tier

This is Setgraph’s own wording on its App Store page, quoted rather than summarised, so you can weigh it yourself:

Unlock unlimited access with a Pro Membership.

A Lifetime Pro Membership can be purchased once without a subscription. A Pro Membership is also available with a monthly or yearly subscription.

Why people look for a Setgraph alternative

Pro is where "unlimited access" lives

Setgraph’s own wording is that a Pro Membership unlocks unlimited access. The listing does not spell out what the free tier caps, so the shape of the limit is something you discover in the app rather than before installing.

The charts are the centre of gravity

That is a design choice, not a flaw, but it means the app is organised around looking at your training rather than around the fifteen seconds before a set. If what you want is the last set’s numbers next to the input, that is a different priority.

A membership is still a membership

Even with a lifetime option available, the full app sits behind a purchase. That is an entirely reasonable model; it is simply a different one from having nothing behind a paywall.

What Setgraph has that Mekimeki does not

Flexible grouping

Setgraph lets you group exercises by workout, muscle group, programme, or day of the week and switch between those views. Mekimeki organises around templates and sessions, so if you like reading the same history several ways, Setgraph is built for that.

Charting is the centre of the app

Real-time session metrics and progress graphs are what Setgraph is designed around, and it goes deeper on visualisation than we do. Mekimeki shows volume trends and estimated 1RM over time, but it is a logger first and a chart tool second.

Where Mekimeki is different

Last time is next to the input, not on another screen

The weight and reps you hit on this exercise last session sit beside the set you are filling in, matched set for set. Progressive overload is a comparison, and the comparison has to be in front of you during the fifteen seconds before you start the set.

No account, no sign-up, no email

The app opens straight into a workout. There is no registration wall, no social profile to create, and no email address to hand over before you can log your first set. Your training data lives in a local database on the iPhone.

There is no paid tier to compare against

Mekimeki does not have a Pro, Plus, Elite, or Premium version. There is no upgrade screen, because there is nothing behind it. Every feature listed on this site is in the free download, and that is a structural decision rather than a launch promotion.

The four shapes of "free"

Which one should you pick

Setgraph is a good answer if charts are why you log and you would rather pay once than subscribe. Mekimeki is the answer if you would rather not pay at all, want the previous session’s numbers sitting beside the set you are entering, and want warm-up and assisted sets scored differently rather than merely labelled.

Questions people ask

What does Setgraph charge for?

Setgraph is free to download and charges for Subscription or one-time purchase. Here is how the developer puts it on the App Store listing: Unlock unlimited access with a Pro Membership. A Lifetime Pro Membership can be purchased once without a subscription. A Pro Membership is also available with a monthly or yearly subscription.

Is Mekimeki really free, or is it free like Setgraph is free?

It is free with no paid tier of any kind. There is no Pro version, no subscription, no one-time unlock, and no advertising. The distinction matters because most trackers on this page are also free to download and then charge to remove a limit; Mekimeki has no limit to remove.

Can I move my history from Setgraph?

There is no direct importer for Setgraph data, and past sessions do not come across. What is worth carrying over is the last working weight for each exercise: a few minutes while you build your templates, after which the new history accumulates from there. Templates in Mekimeki are unlimited, so rebuilding a six-day split costs nothing but the typing.

Where these numbers come from

Every free-tier limit and price on this page is quoted word for word from that developer’s own App Store listing, and a dated copy of the listing is kept so the quote can be re-checked. How these comparisons are sourced and archived →
