Abs & Core Workout

Abs · core strength

A strong core does more than look good: it stabilises every heavy lift. This plan trains the abs through their two main jobs, flexing the spine with crunches and leg raises, and resisting movement with planks and twists.

Add it to the end of two or three workouts a week. Control every rep instead of rushing.

How often should I train abs?

Two to three times a week is plenty. The abs recover quickly, but like any muscle they still need progression, so add reps or resistance over time.

Do abs exercises burn belly fat?

No exercise burns fat from a specific spot. Visible abs come from lowering overall body fat through diet and training; these moves build the muscle underneath.
